AUMA-USA restructured the AM/AC Controls Assembly workstations in June 2017 to improve consistency and efficiency. The decision to standardize the Controls Assembly workspaces was a result of an internal discussion with the AUMA Group Improvement Team from Mullheim, Germany.
After analyzing process flow and product data, the reorganization took effect. The AM and AC areas were in separate locations, but sharing labor and testing resources. The workstations also differed in design, tools and materials; therefore, causing additional and unnecessary work for employees searching for proper resources.
Now, the AM/AC Controls Assembly workstations are in the same area and standardized so that all workbenches are identical with customary tools and materials. Test stand centers have been localized to assist in the streamline flow from AM/AC stations. Since restructuring the AM/AC Controls Assembly workstations, AUMA-USA has experienced an increase in production.
Additionally, it is with great pleasure that AUMA-USA welcomes Jim Polen as Production Supervisor. Jim brings 20 years of manufacturing experience to AUMA-USA.
