Secretary of Dept. of Community and Economic Development Visits AUMA-USA
Secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development, Dennis Davin, visited Washington County to address economic development, the importance of manufacturing and to promote local tourism. Secretary Davin, the Washington County Commissioners, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Agency along with 50 of their elite members gathered at AUMA-USA on Friday, April 21, 2017 for an open discussion regarding these topics as well as to learn about regional manufacturing and tour AUMA-USA.

Throughout the forum, Secretary Davin stressed promoting local tourism and investing those monies back into the county to assist in developing Washington County as well as creating jobs, especially in the area of manufacturing. Creating jobs would give qualified individuals as well as high school students who opt to complete an apprenticeship program rather than pursue a four-year post-secondary degree an opportunity.

Matt Thiel, President of AUMA-USA, also acknowledged the significance for the need of qualified manufacturing personnel. With that, Matt briefly spoke about AUMA-USA sales and manufacturing prior to a plant tour given by Rory Bennett, Production Controls Supervisor, Curt Fry, VP of Engineering and Tony Scacchitti, Production Manager.

It was a great honor for AUMA-USA to host Secretary Davin, the Washington County Commissioners, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Agency and their elite members. All were impressed with AUMA-USA and appreciated the factory's cleanliness and the overall passion for manufacturing.
